Violation of these terms of use constitutes unauthorized use of this service. Such unauthorized use may subject the user, without notice or recourse, to termination of any right to use the service at the company’s sole discretion. The company’s right to terminate a user’s access to the service in no way creates any obligation on the company to exercise such right to termination.

1. Purpose and Nature of the Pilot

Lingwell is a guided language companion designed to support self-reflection through structured written dialogue. It is currently in active development. The pilot phase allows the tool to be refined and trained through real-world use. By participating, you are contributing to the evolution of a new kind of reflective practice tool.

Lingwell is not a clinical treatment, diagnostic service, or substitute for therapy or crisis support. If you are in distress or need urgent care, please reach out to a licensed professional or emergency resource.

2. Voluntary Use and Human Review

Participation in the pilot is voluntary. You may stop using Lingwell at any time. By continuing, you consent to the review of your session transcripts by members of the Lingwell development team. These reviews are solely for the purposes of improving system accuracy, refining responses, and ensuring responsible design.

These reviews are not clinical in nature and are not used to evaluate individual users. Feedback may be gathered in tandem from facilitators or users to support quality control and development.

3. Privacy and Data Handling

• You are not required to use your real name.
• Please avoid entering identifying details such as full names, addresses, or sensitive medical/financial information.
• Your session text—including what you write and Lingwell’s responses—may be stored securely and reviewed as described above.
• This data may be anonymized and aggregated for analysis and training purposes.
• You may request deletion of your data by contacting the Lingwell team through the website.

4. Acceptable Use

• Use it only for personal reflection or evaluation during the pilot.
• Refrain from submitting confidential or sensitive third-party information.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or repurpose Lingwell's systems or content without written permission, other than for brief excerpts used in educational or evaluative settings with appropriate attribution.

Lingwell is offered “as is” during the pilot. No warranties or guarantees are made regarding outcomes. Lingwell and its creators are not liable for any harm or loss arising from your use or inability to use the tool.

These Terms may be updated as the pilot evolves. Continued use of Lingwell indicates your acceptance of any revised terms.
